Wintersession Courses
For six weeks between the fall and spring semesters, RISD offers students a complete change of pace. Wintersession, as this condensed semester is known, allows for an intense exploration of a particular discipline or an off-campus interest. For graduate students this time can be especially rewarding by teaching their own course!
Each graduate student has the opportunity to propose and teach a course during the winter of their second year. In Digital + Media, graduate-proposed course topics are as diverse and creative as the students who teach them. From technical applications like physical computing and programming, interactive design, fabrication and installation, to multidisciplinary practices of performance, film, music and other new media intermix, a broad range of talents is sure to be represented. It’s one of many great experiences found at D+M.
