D+M students question the institutional structure of the gallery system and the commodification of art objects. Often, they use humor and absurdity to point to the relationship between art and production.
They question not only the institutional structures of museums and galleries, but of academia itself. They subvert these structures by converting critiques into an active space for experimentation that questions the role of the critic and the artist.
They deal with issues of appropriation and reproduction in an attempt to deconstruct and expose economies that are embedded within the worlds of art and culture.
They examine the changing role of the artist in the digital age.
