What is knowledge?
Where does it come from?
Why do we think?
How does it affect us?
Students in Digital + Media ask fundamental questions about the nature of belief, truth and knowledge. They explore and examine sources of knowledge such as perception, introspection, memory, reason and data. They deal with knowledge as it manifests across a range of fields such as politics, culture, history and the sciences.
They interrogate and critique how truth and belief are acquired, constructed and disseminated. In particular, they examine technology’s fundamental role within the evolution of human understanding, both as an instrument capable of supporting hypothesis and fact, and as a means of proliferating information.
They present their work in a myriad of forms, from text, to performance, to installation.
