ARTIST STATEMENT formally, i work with painting, drawing, still image, video and sound to build interactive and non-interactive art installations. my current work attempts to blur or break down the psychological and social boundaries that are constructed in order to function within a system; a system that is often comprised of partial realities. in the process of approaching the collapse of these boundaries, the work is also approaching a state of ambiguity where conventional binaries such as subject and object, knowable and unknowable and rational and irrational are challenged. i explore ambiguity in my work as a means to subvert the borders of psychological and social comfort zones. i hope that the individual is awaken by the confrontation and becomes aware if only briefly of an integrated reality. research interests include literature, systems theory, psychoanalytic theory and sound.
